Terms of Service

On Island ("we", "us", "our") is a free community platform for the Channel Islands, operated by Islands AI Ltd. The service is provided at onisland.gg and as a progressive web application.

By using On Island, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

You may sign in using Google or create an account with email. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and not impersonate others.

The marketplace enables peer-to-peer buying and selling between users. On Island is not a party to any transaction. We do not inspect, verify, or guarantee any listings, goods, or services offered by users.

Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, the quality of goods sold, and the completion of transactions. On Island accepts no liability for disputes between buyers and sellers.

Business listings are sourced from publicly available information including Visit Guernsey, jersey.com, and government data. Business owners may claim their listing to update details or request removal by contacting us at [email protected].

On Island aggregates content from third-party sources including BBC News, bus timetables (UrbanThings), tide data, flight information, and weather data (Open-Meteo). We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or timeliness of this content.

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant us a licence to display it on the platform. You must not post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or infringing on others' rights.

We are not responsible for user-generated content or messages exchanged between users. We reserve the right to remove any content and block any user at our sole discretion.

You must not use On Island to: post spam or fraudulent listings; harass other users; scrape or extract data; attempt to gain unauthorised access; or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

On Island is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, On Island and Islands AI Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to marketplace transactions, reliance on third-party data, or loss of data.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Guernsey.
